DESCRIPTION:Ames, IA – March 25, 2025 – The Central Iowa community is coming together for the third year to raise awareness and funds for melanoma research with the Safe in the Sun 5K/10K Run. This annual event, hosted by the Cancer Bucket Foundation, will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Ada Hayden Heritage Park in Ames, Iowa.\nWhether you’re a runner, a walker, or a supporter of the cause, the Safe in the Sun Run offers a meaningful opportunity to help in the fight against melanoma and skin cancer. This event supports The Cancer Bucket Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to funding groundbreaking melanoma research and promoting skin cancer prevention.\nFounded in 2022 by Jordan Hauck, a two-time stage 4 melanoma survivor and Founder of Crown Cover, along with Dr. Leslie Christenson, a dermatologist specializing in skin cancer treatment, and Megan Burt, a skin cancer survivor and Doctor of Physical Therapy, the foundation has raised over $28,000 for melanoma research.
