AREA Interns 2025: Building a Strong Financial Foundation – Lunch & Learn with AREA YP
The AREA Intern Program is a summer series designed to help interns and college students connect with local business leaders while exploring the opportunities the Ames region has to offer. By immersing interns and college students in a variety of professional development experiences, we hope to inspire them to consider staying in the AREA as they begin their careers. Thanks to our Workforce Sponsors, events are free to attend, but registration is required. This program was previously known as “See Yourself In Ames.”
The third event will be held at First National Bank, where interns will participate in a special session on Building a Strong Financial Foundation. In collaboration with AREA Young Professionals, this session provides interns with practical, real-world financial advice on how to manage their personal finances, including budgeting, saving, and investing. Interns will learn how to take control of their financial futures, with a particular focus on setting themselves up for long-term success as they begin their careers. Tim Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President, will provide tips and strategies for achieving financial stability, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain personalized guidance. This event is essential for helping interns prepare to navigate the financial challenges that come with entering the workforce.
