The City of Gilbert is proud to announce the grand opening of Steel Street that is not only providing another access point for community drivers but also to the brand-new light commercial park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Monday evening.
This long-targeted business park, which spans almost ten acres, is set to be a major economic driver for the city, attracting a diverse range of new commercial and community services. The development will feature flexible office/workspaces, high-quality infrastructure, and sustainable design elements that reflect Gilbert’s commitment to both quality economic growth and private-public partnerships.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony included Mayor Popp, current and past members of the City Council, Story County Supervisors Linda Murken and Latifah Faisal, Dan Culhane; President of the Ames Regional Economic Alliance, local business leaders of GilbertLTD who are developing the park and representatives from the businesses who are finalizing plans to be the first tenants. Luke Jensen of GilbertLTD expressed high gratitude to the City of Gilbert’s elected officials and staff for making this project such a success, “This work did not happen overnight and the commitment from the city and these new business partners coming to the community just shows what we can accomplish working together.”
