The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) recently announced $35.9 million in workforce housing tax credits to support development in 36 counties across the state. The awards will fund 63 projects expected to create nearly 2,000 new residential units.
“When families can find quality, affordable homes, they put down roots — and that gives businesses the steady workforce they need,” said Debi Durham, director of IEDA and the Iowa Finance Authority. “It’s that kind of stability that keeps our communities strong and our economy moving forward.”
Eight housing projects within the Ames region were awarded, combining for a total of 311 units and $4,452,634 in funding. Those projects are listed below:
Ames:
- Keystone Equity Group | Harrison Court | 12 Units | $261,496 |
Boone:
- Prairie Place, LLC | Prairie Place Phase 2 | 24 Units | $823,393 |
Huxley:
- Northpark Row LLC | Northpark Rowhomes | 92 Units | $1,000,000 |
Maxwell:
- JAMC Real Estate Solutions | Rock Creek Ridge | 6 Units | $210,750 |

“These successful applications will bring in just over $4.45M in State funding to our region, which is truly fantastic news for the communities involved,” said Dan Culhane, President & CEO of the Ames Regional Economic Alliance. “The 311 units of rental housing to be created, as a result of these projects, will further assist our efforts to attract and retain people in the Ames region.”
