The Ames Regional Economic Alliance is excited to announce Ronnie Olson as the new Executive Director of Ames Main Street (AMS). Olson previously served as Investor Relations Coordinator for the Alliance and has been with the organization since 2024.
“Ronnie has a passion for Downtown Ames that is perfect for this role,” said Dan Culhane, President & CEO of the Ames Regional Economic Alliance. “She has built strong relationships with our members, understands the importance of a vibrant downtown, and brings energy and creativity that will continue to move Ames Main Street forward.”
As the Executive Director of Ames Main Street, Olson will serve as the primary public relations lead for the organization and will oversee daily operations and programming. She will work closely with the Ames Main Street Board of Directors, the City of Ames, and private investors to further enhance the vitality and visibility of Downtown Ames. Olson will also continue overseeing business programming in Huxley, in collaboration with the City of Huxley, a role she assumed in 2025.
Olson began her time at the Alliance as a Client Services Coordinator, where she was responsible for delivering exceptional service to members and visitors. She quickly transitioned into the Investor Relations Coordinator role, where she played a key role in member engagement and retention. In this position, Olson developed meaningful relationships across the Alliance’s membership base, with a particular focus on businesses and stakeholders in Downtown Ames.
“I’m incredibly excited to step into this role and continue working alongside the amazing businesses and partners that make Downtown Ames so special,” said Olson. “Over the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to build strong connections within the downtown community, and I look forward to building on that momentum to support our businesses and create an even more vibrant downtown experience.”
