2024 Leadership Ames Graduation
Join us in celebrating the accomplishments of the Leadership Ames Class of XXXVII! This special ceremony will honor the dedication, hard work, and growth of our graduates, who have spent the past year enhancing their leadership skills and community involvement.
The evening will feature remarks from Leadership Ames XIX Graduate Lawrence Cunningham, recognition of each graduate, and a peek into their community service projects. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow alumni, community members, and supporters as we celebrate the future leaders of Ames.

About the speaker
Lawrence Cunningham – Chief Growth Officer, Business Publications Corp.
Lawrence Cunningham is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in business growth, media, and leadership. As Chief Growth Officer at Business Publications Corp. (BPC), Lawrence leads strategic initiatives, drives sales with a customer-focused approach, and collaborates with company leadership to create innovative solutions for readers, advertisers, and community partners.
Before joining BPC, Lawrence served as Director of Business Development and Marketing at Keen Project Solutions, where he helped grow revenue, expand market reach, and implement systems to support rapid business growth. He also spent seven years as President and CEO of the Iowa State Daily Media Group, transforming the organization’s business model, launching a student-led creative agency, and mentoring future leaders.
Lawrence’s career includes leadership roles with organizations such as Mittera Group, Sigler Companies, and Learfield Sports, giving him deep insights into both business development and media. His ability to scale operations and build meaningful connections makes him a dynamic leader for growth-oriented teams.
A committed community leader, Lawrence has chaired the boards of the Iowa State University Alumni Association, the Ames Regional Economic Alliance, and The Association of Business & Industry’s Leadership Iowa Board of Governors. He also served on the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Board for Sigma Alpha Epsilon National Fraternity. Lawrence was appointed by the governor to the Iowa Civil Rights Commission and co-chaired a major fundraising event for the Science Center of Iowa with record setting success.
