The Ames Regional Economic Alliance and partner organizations will be celebrating National Economic Development Week from May 4-8, 2026 to showcase the contributions of positive economic development and ongoing economic development projects in our communities.
“Economic development is about creating opportunities that strengthen our businesses, communities, and quality of life,” said Dan Culhane, President and CEO of the Ames Regional Economic Alliance. “During Economic Development Week, we’re excited to recognize not only the work being done by our organization, but also the many partners and stakeholders whose collaboration helps move our region forward.”
The week-long celebration will be featured on our social media platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and include content on the following topics: Business Attraction, Workforce, Entrepreneurship, Business Retention & Expansion, and Community Development.
Now in its eleventh year, National Economic Development Week was created by the International Economic Development Council, the largest professional membership organization for economic developers, in 2016 to recognize the unique role that economic development has in creating vibrant communities with strong economies.
