October 2025 End of Month

End of Month - October 2025

As we near the end of another busy month, I’m reminded of a saying I used recently: “Success has many fathers, failure is an orphan.” I’ve been told I have a lot of these sayings. I credit President Kennedy with this one, but it certainly applies to our organization and the momentum we are experiencing across the region. The progress we make at the Ames Regional Economic Alliance doesn’t happen because of any one person in isolation. It happens because of collaboration across communities, businesses, and leaders who are committed to moving our region forward together.

This fall has certainly showcased that spirit of teamwork. Our organization continues to focus on major initiatives that strengthen our regional economy, including ongoing work with Daisy Brand as they advance construction on their new facility. Daisy remains top of mind for us and represents a great example of how long-term partnerships and communication lead to shared success. Across our four-county region, from Boone to Story to Hamilton to Greene, we continue to see progress and collaboration that position Central Iowa for strong growth.

Speaking of growth, our Alliance team grew recently as well. This month, we welcomed two new team members who will help us expand our marketing and economic development efforts, including a specific focus on Boone County. These additions strengthen our capacity to serve our communities and tell the story of why our region is such a dynamic place to live, work, and play. As our initiatives evolve, having the right people in the right roles ensures we can continue to meet the needs of our investors, partners, and residents.

Fall is one of the busiest times of the year for our organization. Between community events, regional initiatives, and ongoing economic development projects, there’s no shortage of activity. Each meeting, groundbreaking, and partnership reminds me how much energy there is across our communities and how valuable it is to have a team, both inside and outside our organization, working toward shared goals.

While we stay focused on the work, we’re also celebrating the vibrancy of the place we call home. If you haven’t yet, I encourage you to take a drive through Campustown on Lincolnway to see the new Live Work Play in Ames banner proudly displayed. If you’re on the interstate or highways, you might also catch a glimpse of the Live Work Play brand on the Fareway semi wrap; a moving reminder (literally!) of what makes this region special.

As we close out October and head into the final stretch of the year, I want to thank everyone who continues to be part of this work. Together, we’re building something remarkable, one partnership, one project, and one success at a time.
