Ringold Estates reached a key milestone this week as city leaders and Boone County Economic Growth Commission (BCEGC) representatives visited the project location to review the progress and discuss future plans. Josh and Heidi Walters are owners of Empire Realty, LLC. The ongoing development is set to transform the area into a vibrant community space, with a total of eight housing units planned upon completion.
During the visit, attendees had the opportunity to tour the construction site and inspect the progress of the initial phase of the project. Currently, two units are being built and are listed for sale. This first phase marks an important step towards achieving the project’s ultimate goal of providing high-quality housing options for local residents.
Council member Linda Williamson expressed enthusiasm about the project’s advancement, stating, “The Ringold Estates project is a crucial component of our city’s commitment to expanding housing. It’s exciting to see tangible progress and to know that soon, more families will benefit from these new units.”
The project was awarded State of Iowa Workforce Housing Tax Credits in 2023 through the support of the City of Boone and BCEGC. This funding program is designed to address the growing need for affordable housing in Iowa. When fully completed, the Ringold Estates project will offer eight well-designed housing units, contributing to the city’s broader efforts to enhance living conditions and support sustainable development.
