AREA Interns 2026: National Intern Day and Celebration

The AREA Intern Program is a summer series designed to help interns and college students connect with local business leaders while exploring the opportunities the Ames region has to offer. By immersing interns and college students in a variety of professional development experiences, we hope to inspire them to consider staying in the AREA as they begin their careers. Thanks to our Workforce Sponsors, events are free to attend, but registration is required. This program was previously known as “See Yourself In Ames.”

Celebrate the end of a great summer on National Intern Day! This event will highlight a previous 4 Under 40 speaker, Grace Larkey – Community Affairs Advisor with Chevron, and interns will receive a free professional headshot.  This is the perfect opportunity to reflect on the summer and imagine what your future in the Ames region could look like.
