The Ames Regional Economic Alliance and the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce are announcing a new partnership that will bring the resources, expertise and regional reach of the Alliance to the Chamber while building on the strong foundation already established by the Webster City business community.
Under the partnership, the Ames Regional Economic Alliance will provide management and operational oversight for the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce beginning September 1, 2026. The collaboration is designed to strengthen Chamber services, expand opportunities for businesses and provide additional resources to support economic and community development in Webster City and throughout Hamilton County.
The partnership builds on an existing relationship between the Alliance and the Hamilton County community. The Alliance established the Hamilton County Growth Partnership in 2024 to provide a dedicated economic development presence in the county and has developed strong working relationships with the City of Webster City and the Hamilton County Board of Supervisors.
“This partnership is a natural extension of the work we are already doing in Hamilton County,” said Dan Culhane, president and CEO of the Ames Regional Economic Alliance. “Webster City has a strong business community and a Chamber with a long history of supporting local businesses. Our goal is to build on that foundation by bringing additional resources, expertise and regional connectivity to the Chamber while keeping Webster City and its businesses at the center of the work.”
The partnership will create greater connectivity between Webster City businesses and the broader regional business community. Through its work across Boone, Greene, Hamilton and Story counties, the Alliance can help create additional opportunities for businesses and communities to collaborate, share resources and strengthen the region’s economic competitiveness.
“This is about adding value to what is already working,” said Monica Haberman, president of the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. “Our Chamber has a strong history and a committed business community. Partnering with the Alliance gives us an opportunity to build on that foundation, provide additional resources to our members and create a sustainable future for the Chamber.”
The Alliance and Chamber will work closely with local community leaders, including the City of Webster City and Hamilton County, to align Chamber activities with broader economic and community development efforts.
An announcement regarding the Chamber’s new executive director will be made soon.
The Ames Regional Economic Alliance is a regional economic and community development organization serving Boone, Greene, Hamilton and Story counties. Through economic development, business support, marketing, advocacy and regional collaboration, the Alliance works to strengthen the communities and businesses that make up the region.
The Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce represents and supports the local business community through advocacy, business engagement, community events and programs designed to strengthen the Webster City area.
