The Iowa Economic Authority (IEDA) has announced funding for two companies in the Ames MSA. State funding has been approved for M.H. Eby, Inc. in Story City and Mid-States Material Handling and Fabrication in Nevada.
M.H. Eby, Inc.
M.H. Eby was founded in 1938, as a manufacturer of wood livestock truck bodies. Over the years the company has evolved and is now an industry-leader in manufacturing aluminum truck bodies and livestock haulers. In 2005, Eby expanded its footprint to Story City to manufacture Bull Ride and Trans Pork punch panel livestock and semi-trailers
Eby plans to expand its existing manufacturing and distribution capacity by an additional 100,000 square feet to support the growth of its business.
Mid-States Material Handling and Fabrication
Mid-States Material Handling and Fabrication, Inc. (MMF) provides metal manufacturing and fabrication primarily in the agriculture sector with grain material handling systems and structural support metal towers and catwalks. It also serves the commercial building industry with stairs, balconies, and other customized metal fabrication. The company plans to expand their corporate headquarters in Nevada with additional office space, manufacturing space and will also invest in manufacturing equipment. Once completed, the additional space will allow for another 29 offices and three conference rooms to support projected growth over the next 5-10 years. This project is expected to create nine high paying career jobs within the company and the community.
