Octagon Center for the Arts to Host Gathering of Artists
Ames, Iowa – The Octagon Center for the Arts will host the Ames Community Arts Council’s monthly Gathering of Artists on Tues., June 18 from 6 – 8 p.m. at 427 Douglas Ave., Ames.
A cornerstone of the arts and culture scene in Ames since 1966, the Octagon serves more than 30,000 people each year through art classes and outreach, rotating exhibits, a retail gallery shop, and the annual Octagon Art Festival. Recently, the Octagon has remodeled the third floor to create beautiful studio spaces for practicing artists. During the gathering, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the new space and hear about upcoming programing.
The Gathering of Artists showcase local artists from around the Ames area. Artists and art enthusiasts of all types are invited to meet other artists, get feedback, get inspired, and have fun. The events are free and open to all. Refreshments will be provided.
