The AREA Intern Program is a summer series designed to help interns and college students connect with local business leaders while exploring the opportunities the Ames region has to offer. By immersing interns and college students in a variety of professional development experiences, we hope to inspire them to consider staying in the AREA as they begin their careers. Thanks to our Workforce Sponsors, events are free to attend, but registration is required. This program was previously known as “See Yourself In Ames.”

Get ready to explore the heart of Ames in a fun, team-based adventure! Interns will participate in a Downtown Ames Scavenger Hunt, discovering local businesses, public spaces, and hidden gems while connecting with other interns. Interns will also hear from Kevin Bourke, President & CEO of Discover Ames about The LINC Project and Ames Event Center. This event will showcase what makes Ames such a great place to live, work, and play!
