Memorial Day Parade

Our traditional Memorial Day parade and program will take place on Monday, May 27, 2024.  We are delighted to invite all of our member organizations and anyone else who is interested to participate in honoring our fallen veterans on this important holiday.  Below are some details.  Please share the details with all the members of your organization.  Both the organizations and their individual members are welcome to join us.

Parade details:

• Parade participants–cars, bikes, walking people, etc.–should gather in the west parking lot of City Hall or on 5th Street west of Clark between 10:00 and 10:15 a.m. on Monday, May 27.
• Parade participants are allowed to put signs on their vehicles or carry signs to identify the individual or organization.
• HOWEVER, due to the solemn nature of Memorial Day–honoring those who have died in service to our country–we ask that all parade participants abide by the following:
  • No throwing or other distribution of candy or other material along the parade route.
  • No commercial promotions.  E.g., no “Eat at Joe’s,” etc.
  • No political promotions.  E.g., no “Vote for ….”
• The parade will step off at 10:30 a.m.
• The parade proceeds north on Clark to 9th Street and then east on 9th to the Municipal Cemetery.
