The Ames Regional Economic Alliance is excited to welcome the 2026–2027 Rising Leaders Academy cohort. This year, the Alliance is collaborating with the Boone County Chamber of Commerce and the Story City Greater Chamber Connection to bring together high school students from across the region for an eight-month leadership development experience.
The Rising Leaders Academy is designed to help students build leadership skills, explore career opportunities, and connect with the people, businesses and organizations that make our region a great place to live, work and build a future.
Throughout the program, students will participate in hands-on experiences, visit local businesses and organizations, meet with community leaders, and gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities available throughout the region.
The first day of the 2026–2027 program will take place on October 27, 2026, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Students will begin the year by connecting with one another, learning more about the program and exploring career opportunities in the region.
