A ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 13, 2026, at 5:00pm will celebrate the transformation of a former Huxley assisted living facility into Northpark Row Apartments. An open house will follow the ceremony at 908 N US Hwy 69, Huxley, IA 50124.
Developed by Coterie Real Estate, Northpark Row brings new life to the building formerly home to Madrid Home of Huxley and later Ballard Creek Assisted Living. The redevelopment has converted the property into 38 apartment homes with no age restrictions, expanding housing choices in the community.
The apartments represent the first phase of the broader Northpark Row project, which was awarded $1 million through Iowa’s Workforce Housing Tax Credit program in 2025. By adapting an existing building for a new residential use, the project reinvests in Huxley while providing additional housing for people living and working in the region.
“We saw an exciting opportunity to help meet the need for additional workforce housing units in Huxley. Through this adaptive reuse project, we were able to give new purpose and life to a vacant senior living facility,” said Abbey Gilroy of Coterie Real Estate. “Completing these 38 apartments is an exciting first step for Northpark Row. We appreciate the local and state support that has helped bring this redevelopment to fruition, and we look forward to welcoming the community to see the transformation.”
“Northpark Row demonstrates how reinvestment in an existing property can help meet our community’s changing needs,” said David Kuhn, mayor of the city of Huxley. “These apartments expand the housing options available to residents and people looking to make Huxley their home. We appreciate Coterie Real Estate’s investment in our community.”
Managed by Artisan Management Group, Northpark Row offers apartment living near local shops, restaurants, parks and schools. The ribbon cutting and open house will celebrate completion of the first phase and recognize the partners involved in the redevelopment.
